International Ties
Prague Mobility –Continuing Our Successful Partnership with Croatia
Our school was once again proud to host a group of students from our Croatian partner school during the month of October under the Erasmus+ programme. This visit further strengthens our long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Throughout their placement, the students assisted with administrative duties and played a key role in the organisation of major school events, such as Erasmus Days and Halloween. They provided significant support to the European Parliament Ambassador School (EPAS) team. We highly value their proactive approach and look forward to the ongoing development of our international activities together.
Prague Mobility – Financial Literacy Without Borders
Several members of the EPAS team took an active role in the Visegrad mini-project, "Financial Literacy Without Borders: Czech–Slovak Youth Exchange on Money Skills," during the month of November. As part of this initiative, they helped organise and prepare for the visit of students from Košice to Prague.
The project focused on financial literacy for teenagers, which perfectly complemented the activities of our student company, Ecopaws. Through this connection, students explored social and environmental entrepreneurship alongside its profitability. The EPAS team contributed by arranging a visit to the Czech National Bank, where participants attended a programme dedicated to the history of money in Czechoslovakia and subsequently the Czech Republic.
Beyond the official schedule, members of Ecopaws initiated discussions regarding potential cooperation and expansion into the Slovak market. This Prague mobility also served as a vital stepping stone in preparing for the upcoming exchange in Košice.
Košice Mobility - Deepening Cooperation and Knowledge
A group of selected EPAS students travelled to Košice during the month of February, continuing the Visegrad mini-project, "Financial Literacy Without Borders: Czech–Slovak Youth Exchange on Money Skills." Building on the foundations laid during the previous meeting in Prague, participants further developed their understanding of complex financial topics.
The programme allowed students to meet with professionals from diverse sectors, including real estate, finance, and investment. These sessions provided valuable real-world insights and practical perspectives that go beyond the classroom.
In addition to the core curriculum, the mobility strengthened the collaboration between student companies. Our own student company, Ecopaws, was presented to both students and teachers, providing a fantastic opportunity to sell products and collect denim for recycling. As Ecopaws aims to expand into the Slovak market—specifically by seeking partnerships with sheltered workshops to minimise its carbon footprint—this visit proved to be highly valuable for our future development.
Prague Mobility - Sustainable Projects and Shared Goals with French Students
Forget standard geography lessons because this February our school transformed into a vibrant hub of international energy. We welcomed a delegation of students from Bourges, France, for a week long marathon of cultural exchange that proved friendship needs no translation. From the first ice breaking questions in the morning to the final shared laughs, the atmosphere at ANOA was electric.
The city of Prague became our shared playground during a high stakes Photo Scavenger Hunt. Mixed Czech French pairs raced through the historic center, navigating the tram network and hunting down cultural landmarks to prove their teamwork through a series of mandatory victory selfies. Whether it was exploring the Astronomical Clock or interviewing local experts at the Tourist Office and Charles Bridge Hostel, the collaboration was seamless and full of life.
But we did not just look at old buildings as we also looked into the mirror of our own generation. Together with our French partners, we conducted a deep dive survey on smartphone addiction. The results are frankly a total knockout and a striking reality check on our digital lives that sparked intense discussions between both groups.
Are you ready to see the raw data for yourself because we have laid it all out for you. Head over to our website's Monthly Recap section or dive into our Instagram and TikTok feeds for the full breakdown. This was not just a visit but a week where we bridged the gap between two cultures and two different worlds including the physical and the digital.
Portorož Mobility - Global Goals and Seaside Soul
Forget ordinary classroom sessions because this April our EPAS team joined 350 students from Czechia, Slovakia, Austria, Croatia, Italy, and Slovenia for a high-octane EPAS marathon in Portorož. From the moment we arrived from Prague's Florenc, the energy was electric. We kicked things off with an official unboxing video of our welcome bags and a deep dive into the power of the youth voice, even receiving a special shout-out from the Vice-President of the European Parliament.
Our team truly stepped into the spotlight during geopolitics debates and an exclusive interview with MEP Ondřej Kolář, which you can already catch on our Instagram. We didn't just talk theory as we tackled workshops on AI, activism, and the European housing crisis, proving our generation is ready to act now. Between sessions, we soaked up the Mediterranean vibes in the heart of Portorož and explored the historic streets of Piran with new friends from other Czech schools.
The finale was a bittersweet mix of victory and a sudden plot twist. While we crushed the closing Kahoot challenge and snapped final team photos, a sudden change in the bus schedule forced a midnight departure. We left the Adriatic coast with more than just notes as we returned with a renewed mission to bridge cultures and lead the way in a united Europe.
Our Virtual Meetup with Romania - CȘE COLEGIUL NAȚIONAL
Recently, we participated in an inspiring virtual exchange with our peers from Romania as part of our ongoing cooperation within the EPAS program. Although this was not a physical mobility project, it served as a fantastic opportunity for international collaboration right from our classroom. The video call was primarily attended by a group of five girls and one boy, which created a very lively and friendly atmosphere throughout the entire session. Together, we focused on our shared activities within the European Parliament Ambassador School network, discussing the specific ways we engage in volunteering and our experiences with hosting Members of the European Parliament at our school. We also exchanged information regarding our involvement in the Erasmus+ program, sharing what projects we have already completed and what we are currently working on. It was particularly interesting to find out whether their school was already established in the EPAS network or if they were relatively new to it. Overall, the conversation was a great way to connect, compare our school lives, and strengthen our ties with other European students.
