Digital Diplomacy
Two students, one screen, and a shared European future. How a single video call redefined our international cooperation.
At this very moment, geographical borders are blurring as we engage in a dynamic virtual exchange with our partners from Romania, proving that meaningful international cooperation no longer requires a plane ticket. Representing our team in this high level session are Ester and Alice, who have effectively transformed our classroom into a vibrant hub of European dialogue. This meeting, held under the prestigious framework of the EPAS program, connects them with a motivated Romanian delegation of five girls and one boy whose collective energy has turned a standard digital meet-up into a sophisticated debate.

The conversation dives deep into the core of the European Parliament Ambassador School network. Together, the students are comparing local volunteering initiatives and sharing first hand insights from hosting Members of the European Parliament. It is a rare look behind the scenes of student activism where Ester and Alice are currently dissecting our shared experiences with the Erasmus+ program, mapping out successfully completed projects while exploring how their Romanian counterparts integrate these European values into their own school identity.
The dialogue took a particularly fascinating turn when the discussion shifted from policy to identity. Our partners were curious about the unique, fraternal relationship we share with Slovakia, which opened the door to a broader sociological reflection. This led to a compelling analysis of public perceptions regarding the European Union as Ester and Alice engaged in comparing the national mindsets of our respective citizens and the general pulse of our societies. By examining how different generations view European integration, they are uncovering the subtle cultural nuances that define us. This real time collaboration is more than just a video call because it serves as a live bridge between two cultures, strengthening the bond and mutual understanding of the next generation of European leaders.
