How We Celebrated Europe Day at a Prague Elementary School

07.05.2026

To celebrate Europe Day, we headed out to a local school to run a special presentation about the European Union and European cooperation as part of our EPAS project.

The goal of the entire event was to show the younger students what the European Union means, how it works, and why it is important for the everyday lives of us all.

During the presentation, we introduced the children to basic information about the European Union, its member states, symbols, and the opportunities it offers to young people. We also talked about the EPAS program and why it is important to take an interest in European affairs and cooperate with other countries. We tried to explain everything in a fun and simple way so that the presentation would engage both the younger children and the older students.

The pupils actively participated, answered questions, and shared their own knowledge about Europe. What made us happiest was that the children were genuinely interested and were not afraid to communicate. The atmosphere throughout the presentation was very pleasant and friendly, which helped us ease our nerves and fully enjoy the entire program.

For us, this was a highly valuable experience. We tried working with an audience and learned how to communicate better and pass information on to others. Personally, what I took away most from this event was a great feeling that we were able to introduce the topic of the European Union to the children in an engaging way, while also motivating them to take more interest in the world around them. For me, the whole presentation was not only a great learning experience but also time pleasantly spent with other students and the schoolchildren.
